Gadget Review - Users of smart phones and laptops have to be careful when being to a high use of Wi-Fi in the public. Reportedly personal information, such as credit card details can be stolen via Wi-Fi connection.

A hacker could regulate cable Internet hotspots in public places, and then stealing personal information from users of smart phones and laptops without realizing it.

British Telecom, the largest operator in the UK which has been providing public Internet hotspots have been aware of this vulnerability.

British Telecom in a statement, scammers using the devices cost U.S. $ 27 and free downloadable software, can collect usernames, passwords, even credit card details, via fake Wi-Fi that seems legitimate.

In an investigation by The Guardian, volunteers test how easy it is to connect the fake Wi-Fi hotspots.

From the results of the investigation, after hackers commit fraud Wi-Fi network at the train station, an expert witness by using laptops and smart phones get Wi-Fi access is not secure, by writing a user name and password.

Other tests invite people to enter their credit card details, to make payments via public access Internet connection. Without realizing that the user has entered in a fake Wi-Fi device.

In Britain, some smart phones can access the 2.5 million base stations open zone, which is available at railway stations and hotels. Hackers can get the label Wi-Fi users, with any name and the user didn’t realizing it.

In fact all personal information could get into the others. Even encrypted information that can be described using the software is available for free.
