Encyclopedia Britannica announced that it would launch several educational applications that are designed for the education of children aged 8-12 years.
Application device is designed so that the kids stay busy for hours with facts, maps, games, and video. Similarly, as quoted from Pocket-Lint, Wednesday (09/01/2010).
"More and more parents now allow their children to use mobile devices. And now there are already many games and educational applications designed specifically for children," said Ian Grant, managing director of the Encyclopedia Britannica (UK) Ltd.
Series of educational applications of the Encyclopedia Britannica will consist of three applications, namely Volcanoes, Dinosaurs and Ancient Egypt. All three applications will be available in AppStore
start early September. Each will be worth 4.99 euros. For other new titles will be announced following the next few months.
Applications have been adapted to screen retinal iPhone 4 and mapping system to IOS. That means its users will be able to see the actual location of objects they see, through a Google Map.
"We feel that these applications offer great potential and are one of the most effective approaches for students everywhere. The new products will offer extensive content, a trusted source (Encyclopedia Britannica), in a format that is fresh and interesting," added Grant.
